Voice Map
An exciting new development that will allow locals and visitors to share in and learn more about the History of Harfield Village is ready to launch.
VoiceMap is an international project dedicated to creating audio tours for sharing stories about places of interest. The concept was launched in SA last year and already they have walking tours/stories for Kirstenbosch Gardens, Muizenberg, Bo Kaap and Woodstock to name but a few. The app is downloadable and then each walk has a cost to the user. As our village has a very rich and interesting history, which can be seen on our Area History page,Lew from Norgarb Properties has taken it upon himself to sponsor a Harfield audio “tour” thereby making a it completely free to all users.  Lew in his continued efforts to promote and support the area would like to remove all barriersof entry to this fantastic initiative.
The tour consists of a walk of approximately 30 minutes and takes you into Harfield Village's past steeped in some very interesting stories that are even likely to raise an eyebrow or two.
Join us on Saturday the 4th July 2015 at 14:00 for the official launch of The Harfield Village VoiceMap Walk.
You will need a smart phone (Android or IOS) and a set of earphones, comfortable shoes and clothes or maybe even an umbrella, beanie and snow skis. There will be a get together at Home Bar/Restaurant afterwards for those who feel like quenching their thirst and having a chat or some laughs about the experience.
Please RSVP to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. if you wish to attend this rather awesome, unique and auspicious occasion!
For more information about how to download the application and how the day will run please click here.

They offer the following services: manicures, pedicures, waxing, facials, lash extensions and massage. Find out more here.

Lew Norgarb
As a locally based business, our roots and interests run deep in Harfield Village. When we stumbled upon VoiceMaps we thought that our Village would make a wonderful place to have a walking tour. With our many historical buildings and quaint streets, our public spaces that are so well cared for by the Friends of Harfield Parks, the great variety of businesses and the melting pot of people that make up Harfield Village, there is so much to experience. We hope that this walking tour sponsored byNorgarb Properties will bring more people to our Village so that they can experience the sense of community and togetherness that I experience every day in Harfield.
Below is a list of what Lew, Lyn and Andre from Norgarb Properties sold in May:

Harfield Village New Website

We are excited that our community website is under a revamp. We now have 200 businesses listed and the number is growing. Apart from news and events, the objective of the site is to promote local businesses, with the site acting like a mini ‘Google’ for the area.

A reminder that the annual Harfield Village Street Carnival will NOT be taking place on the last Saturday of November as in previous years. It is scheduled for 1 March 2014. The reason for the change is due to the unpredictability of the weather during November. To see loads of photographs, reviews and a video of previous years’ carnivals click here.

Norgarb Properties

From the Principal’s pen:
Buying a home in the southern suburbs can be a very frustrating experience. The reason for this is that with the limited stock on the market, demand is far exceeding supply, putting pressure on buyers to act extremely fast and put in good offers. Norgarb Properties recently listed a home which, attracted 36 buyers, multiple offers and a 50k more than asking price sale for the sellers.
Those who need to sell their homes first run the risk of losing out to buyers who either have cash funds available or who simply need a bond.
Should they decide to sell their home and not find another suitable one, they not only run the risk of having to go the rental route, which would mean moving twice, but also the risk of paying increased prices in the future, as property values are steadily rising.
So what do you do if you are in a ‘sell to buy’ position? Sell first and run the gauntlet? Offer ‘subject to’ and lose out time and again on the house of your dreams?
The good news is that there IS another way. There is a way to succeed in a seller’s market even if you have to sell to buy.
Give us a call for a strategy that can work for you. Norgarb Properties. Serious about real estate. Passionate about people. (Follow us on Facebook, click here.)
