Wow wow wow, what an amazing start to this month. The annual Harfield Village Carnival was a raging success. Thank you to Claire and the HVA as well as all the sponsors including Norgarb Properties, Audi Claremont, Pick n Pay and Remax for another fantastic Carnival.
A BIG THANK YOU to all the stall holders, entertainers and local businesses who made this possible. Each year this event gets bigger and bigger and it gives our little village a chance to shine.

It was a busy summer for the Friends of Harfield Parks. Thank YOU HARFIELDERS for the awesome ongoing support that helps shape our parks into the green jewels we want them to be.
Our stall at the Carnival was a huge success and we sold out the wonderful collection of succulents, lilies, herbs and veg as well as a collection of garden flowers grown for us by such kind people. We raised a huge R9000 from the raffles, donations and plant sales and this will go a long way to cover the costs of the stunning new entrance arch at Hampstead, the new gum pole fencing and the new flowerbeds.
The fencing has been lined up opposite the entrances onto Hampstead Road so that from the bottom section of the park there is not an open line of sight to the road. The idea is to slow kids and dogs down so they do not dash into the street.
For upcoming events that you need to diarise and projects on the go please click here to read more.
Special mention of thanks to Harfield businesses who went beyond the call of duty
Norgarb Properties for sponsoring of the Garden Competition and newsletter

The big burning question of tertiary education!
Where to go and what to study?
This month Annette Miller looks at how to go about researching the perfect tertiary education institution that's right for your child.
Feedback from Madge Gibson, a resident in Harfield Village, for the fundraising she did on behalf of TEARS: "At the latest count I have managed to raise just under R17k, so a HUGE thank you to my beleaguered friends and the many animal loving souls out there who made this a reality.
I'd also like to give a BIG shout out to TEARS Animal Rescue, whose staff worked through the night to make this event as safe and enjoyable as possible. And to all the other volunteers who dedicated their time and love to the animals. There was a tsunami of love and cuddles, treats and dog toys gnawed.
What a humbling and enlightening experience. Thank you everyone."
