Dear Subscriber

We have had some really good rain, but still nowhere near the amount we require to overcome the drought, in fact it has been said that it will take around 3 years of above average rainfall to bring us anywhere near sufficiency. So, please continue to be vigilant in saving water.
While it has become popular to collect water from the spring at the Newlands Brewery, we must still ensure that we conserve water. The collection facility built by the Brewery on the corner of Letterstedt Road and Main Road is for members of the public. This facility is monitored by 24 hour CCTV access. Any person or persons abusing this privilege will be banned from entering the collection facility.
Please note:
  • A daily limit of 25l per person is advocated by the DWS.
  • Please be considerate to others waiting.
  • This water resource is not for commercial use (which includes, but not limited to, car washes, Bed & Breakfasts, restaurants, automobile companies, factories, water sellers etc.).
  • Anyone presumed to be collecting water for commercial purpose without authorisation issued only by the National Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) will be reported. Parties found guilty of exploiting this water source could face consequences as stipulated in the National Water Act, 1998 (Act 36 of 1998).
* The quality of water is not guaranteed – Consumption of this water is at your own risk.
HELP POPPY FIND A FOREVER HOME
This gorgeous girl, Poppy, is looking for her forever home. She had a rough start but has blossomed into a goofy, loving teenager in foster care. She is about 9 months old, will become a medium size dog with a soft caramel coat. Poppy loves to play and needs a doggie friend to hang out with it. She is extremely affectionate and engaging with adults and kids. Originally Poppy was at first nervous of going on walks but with lots of encouragement and the help of her doggie friends she is becoming more confident. She has lots of energy so exercise is important. She is completely house-trained and sleeps through the night. Poppy has been sterilised and vaccinated so she is 'good-to-go'. If you are keen to meet Poppy then please contact tamsyn@ripsold.co.za or 0824117922.
