Albion School of Highland Dancing offers highland lessons for boys and girls aged 4 and up. A lively alternative to ballet, highland dancing is great for fun, fitness, discipline and muscle control. Beginners of all ages welcome.
Younger dancers do music and movement and learn basic movements before advancing on to learning the sword dance, the highland fling, sailor’s hornpipe, Irish jig and others. You do not need to be Scottish to learn highland dancing!
Teacher qualified and registered with the Official Scottish Board of Highland Dancing. Opportunity to do exams, compete and take part in choreography.
Classes currently offered in Claremont (East Claremont Congregational Church, Craven Hall, Franklin Road, entrance) and Pinelands (Pinelands Congregational Church, Nerine Avenue). Contact for current class schedules. Classes R50.00 a class, first two classes free.
