MOBILE 3 OFFICIALLY LAUNCHES

The launch of Mobile 3, on 8 May, was a proud and emotional milestone for ARO as our newest Mobile Clinic officially hit the road. Expanding our fleet means we can reach even more communities with essential veterinary care, and we know this clinic will change countless lives.

This project was made possible through the generosity of our donors and supporters, and we are deeply grateful to everyone who believed in this vision. We are also incredibly proud of our Mobile Team, whose compassion and dedication bring ARO’s mission to life every day in communities across Cape Town.

The road to launch was not easy. Delays in sourcing the right vehicle set the project back by several months due to stock availability challenges. In the end, we moved forward with a different vehicle than originally planned — and it turned out to be even better than we had imagined, allowing us to create a Mobile Clinic we are incredibly proud of.

After engaging with ward councillors and community leaders, we identified Parkwood, Pelican Park, Strandfontein, and Portland as areas where the need was greatest. Parkwood became the first stop on launch day, and the response was overwhelming. Long before we arrived, families were already waiting with their beloved pets.

What struck us most was the love this community has for their animals. The need for care is real, but so is the compassion. We left knowing that Mobile 3 is exactly where it is needed most.
