Our World Animal Day Breakfast was an incredible celebration of compassion and community — and together, we raised R134,000 for animals in need! 💛
A huge thank you to everyone who attended, donated, and supported us.
We were privileged to welcome Alderman JP Smith, who spoke with passion and insight about the City’s animal welfare efforts. Many guests commented that they had no idea how much was being done — and left feeling inspired and hopeful.
Of course, our morning wouldn’t have been complete without Alan Committie, whose humour and heart made everyone laugh.
Our Executive, Teagan Schwerin, spoke about the urgent need to expand our work, sharing sobering stories from our Sterilisation Drive in Wallacedene. The conditions there are dire — but our upcoming Mobile 3 clinic will allow us to reach more animals who desperately need care.
Teagan also highlighted how powerful small contributions can be:
“If half of the 300 guests in the room signed up for a R50 monthly debit order, we could fund all the medications needed for our new mobile clinic for an entire year.”
While we didn’t receive many monthly sign-ups on the day, many guests said they planned to sign up online — and we’re hopeful that others who couldn’t attend will join in to help us reach this important goal.
