Wondering what happened to our March Newsletter? Well, with a whirlwind of everything that’s been happening, we’ve decided to start fresh and change things up a little bit. Instead of sending a newsletter at the end of the month, we’ve decided to send it at the beginning of the month for that month! We hope you enjoy our newsletter, its content and would love to hear your thoughts. You can let us know via email on info@harfield-village.co.za or our Facebook Page.

As South Africans, we’ve all been facing new challenges as measures are put in place to curb the spread of the global Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. As Autumn approaches, so does Easter which may be very different this time during COVID-19. We hope families use this time to reflect, giving in to more family time. While we are living in an unprecedented time, Harfield Village Online is committed to continue to bring monthly newsletters to our residents and neighbours.

This month’s newsletter is, once again filled with great articlescompetition prizes with a total value of R1,090things to do with the kids during Lockdownspecials, all of which are thanks to our regular contributors. Also in this newsletter are new and updated business listings as well as the latest properties for sale from Norgarb Properties, our sponsors.
Message from Lew Norgarb – COVID-19

Midnight tonight will be a week since South Africa entered into COVID-19 Lockdown and it’s been a challenging time for everyone. Schools have closed, most businesses in the Village have shut doors and regular routines have been broken. But communities certainly have come together in the fight against this Pandemic. We thank all those residents and neighbours who have been adhering to the Lockdown Regulations and encourage you all to continue to #StayHome.

It isn’t easy to suddenly have to make these drastic changes, but given the scary statistics we are faced with, the more we follow the measures put in place, the sooner we can heal and get through this challenging time. We commend the businesses that have closed, and some that continue to work in the background. We understand the financial implications this may have but when this is all over, we wish your business prosperity and success.

To our residents and neighbours who will be celebrating Easter – while this may be a very different Easter, not being able to spend time with family and friends, Easter symbolizes the renewal of life. We wish you and your family the renewal of life, love, and happiness.

Last week, Norgarb Properties sent a notification to all its clients and business partners and wish to share the same with you.
Our offices are closed until further notice regarding COVID-19 Regulations. However, our Team continues to work remotely.

Our landline number will not be available during this time, but you can call or WhatsApp us on our office mobile number on 082 297 2970 for any queries. You can also contact our agents directly on their mobile numbers, which are listed on our website at www.norgarbproperties.co.za.

We appreciate the co-operation and understanding of our clients during this challenging time.

Take Care and Be Safe.

COVID-19 and the local property market

The truth is, no one has a crystal ball and undoubtedly we are entering unchartered waters! That said, people still need a roof over their heads, so there will always be some level of activity in the property market. Some folks will be relocating, others outgrowing their homes, some down-sizing and others upsizing when they see their dream home on the market at an affordable price. There are investors scouting, developers hovering, and of course, first-time buyers who are tired of paying someone else’s bond and eager to capitalize on the down market and get their foot into the property door.

So despite the lock-down, we are very much open for business and ready to help you right away!

Wondering what your existing property is worth? No problem! Just contact us. We have tons of sales stats and useful tools at our disposal and in no time at all, you can have an estimated “desktop” valuation in your inbox accompanied by plenty supporting documents and nearby sales examples. We have time and resources, so let’s say hi!

Wondering if you can afford to buy now? For a kick start, watch this cool INTERVIEW on ENCA with our phenomenal business partners BetterBond.

Lean on us while you have our undivided attention and “unlock” our true value while preparing yourself to sell, buy, get market info or get pre-assed financially.
With South Africa in Lockdown, not everything needs to be doom and gloom. We have amazing members of our community that have been working to help people in need. There are great activities to keep the little ones busy at home. And we still have some essential businesses that are open and operating in The Village. Let’s join together (from a distance) and support each other in this challenging time.

We highlight some of the stories, activities and updates from local businesses!

Most kids will have a little (or a lot) more screen time than they normally would, especially if parents need to work. Thankfully there are many cool online resources that stimulate kids’ brains.

Fine Feathers Sewing School offers just that and many other aspects in sewing.
Alterations, Re-Modeling your Retro or Vintage Clothing and/or Up-Cycle your Wardrobe are just some of the offerings.

To remodel your wardrobe: 1) Make an appointment; 2) bring a few items of clothing to Sharon; 3) discuss, and transform your wardrobe together.

The initial hour-long appointment will set you back only R150. Sharon will advise what is possible & suitable to transform your clothing. Sometimes small changes, or a minor adjustment, can make all the difference. After the initial consultation, Sharon charges R75 an hour.

Another of Sharon’s offerings is “Hems in a Hurry” from R75 for a simple hem increasing in price for the more complicated ones (due to cut or fabric). If you are able to sew yourself, Sharon can fit and cut the item for you to sew in your own time, in your own home.
